After graduating from Sonora High School, Bonner attended Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, studying Physics and minoring in Mathematics and Anthropology. While attending Washington State University he did research in metals under a National Science Foundation Grant. His research in intermetallics using gamma-gamma perturbed angular correlation spectroscopy led to the publication of three papers including one he co-authored, Segregation of Solutes In Two-Phase Mixtures, Hyperfine Interactions, p. 653-658, 2002, Matthew O. Zacate, Bonner C. Walsh, et.al. Physics Department, Washington State University, Pullman, WA 99164. He also co-wrote and presented a summation of his research of Site Preferences of Solutes in the Two-phase Field Between Pd_3Ga_7 and PdGa at the American Physics Society meeting in Seattle, March 2001.
Bonner began his legal career at Southern Methodist University. While there he was a Dean's Scholarship Recipient and competed extensively in Mock Trial. He was also the Director of Public Relations for the SMU Board of Advocates, the Vice President of the SMU American Trial Lawyers Association Chapter, and the President of the SMU Second Amendment Foundation. Bonner also participated in the Criminal Justice Clinic where he represented clients in criminal matters. He received his Juris Doctorate from SMU's Dedman School of Law in 2006.
Bonner Walsh became an attorney because he dislikes the way that corporate America treats the average citizen. If you are being mistreated by "the man", Bonner is more than happy to stand up for your rights. Bonner tells his clients, "Don't get mad, get justice".
Bonner focuses his practice in Consumer Protection Law throughout Texas, mainly in the areas of Fair Debt Collection under both Federal and Texas law. He has helped Consumer clients with matters ranging from Debt Defense to Phone Harassment by creditors to Stopping Solicitors from using Auto-dialers for phone solicitation and many other consumer related matters. He also works in trying to enjoin bad acts by collectors through Class Actions. Bonner is not limited to just Consumer Protection practice but also helps clients with personal injury, oil leases, and real property matters in Athens and the surrounding communities.
Bonner is admitted to practice law in the State of Texas as well as the Northern, Eastern and Southern Federal District courts in Texas. He is also a proud member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates.
Expecting their second child, Bonner and his wife Carla, also an attorney, now live in Athens and are happy to be members of the Weinstein Law Firm family.
